Itinerary Details


Day 1: Arrival in Hanoi – The Old Meets the New

Arrive in Hanoi, where tradition lives alongside modern rhythm. Transfer to your hotel and enjoy time to relax or take a walk through the Old Quarter’s lively streets. Optional: enjoy a traditional water puppet show or local street food discovery in the evening.

Day 2: Hanoi Highlights – Colonial Grace & Cultural Depth
Explore Hanoi’s heritage with visits to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (outside view), One Pillar Pagoda, and Temple of Literature. Continue to the French Quarter and walk through narrow alleys of the Old Quarter where real daily life unfolds. Visit a local café for egg coffee — a northern specialty.

Day 3: Journey to Sapa – Into the Highlands
Transfer to the mountain town of Sapa, located near the Chinese border. Along the way, admire dramatic scenery as the road ascends into the clouds. Arrive in Sapa by midday and enjoy a short trek to nearby minority villages such as Cat Cat or Lao Chai, where you’ll witness traditional Black Hmong culture and rice terrace farming.


Day 4: Scenic Drive to Nghia Lo (Yen Bai Province)

Leave the lowlands behind as you begin your journey into the northern mountains. The road to Nghia Lo passes through verdant rice fields, tea plantations, and ethnic minority villages. Along the way, stop to meet local Thai families and learn about their stilt-house architecture. Arrive in Nghia Lo late afternoon and check into a cozy lodge surrounded by nature.

Day 5: Nghia Lo to Mu Cang Chai – Land of Terraced Fields
Enjoy breakfast before heading deeper into the mountains, driving over the breathtaking Khau Pha Pass. Today is all about soaking in the landscapes of Mu Cang Chai – famous for some of the most impressive terraced rice fields in Southeast Asia. Visit ethnic Hmong villages, capture stunning photos, and learn about the intricate rice cultivation system passed down for generations.

Day 6: Mu Cang Chai to Sapa
Continue northward to Sapa, winding through misty mountains and cascading valleys. Upon arrival, check into your resort nestled in the hills. Take the rest of the afternoon to rest, or enjoy a gentle stroll around Sapa town, perhaps sampling some of its vibrant local cuisine.

Day 7: Trekking Sapa’s Ethnic Villages
Start a guided trek through some of the region’s most scenic trails. Visit Lao Chai, Ta Van, and Giang Ta Chai villages – home to Hmong, Dao, and Tay ethnic groups. Witness traditional handicrafts, vibrant clothing, and terraced fields stretching to the horizon. Return to Sapa in the evening.

Day 8: Return to Hanoi
After a relaxed breakfast, head back to Hanoi via a comfortable day transfer. Stop en route for local snacks and short scenic breaks. Arrive in Hanoi in the late afternoon and check into your hotel for a restful night.

Day 9: Journey to Ninh Binh – Halong Bay on Land
Depart Hanoi for the ancient capital of Hoa Lu. Explore its temples and historical ruins before embarking on a serene boat ride through the caves and karst mountains of Tam Coc. Overnight in a peaceful countryside resort.

Day 10: Bai Dinh & Van Long Nature Reserve
Visit Bai Dinh, Vietnam’s largest Buddhist pagoda complex. Then continue to Van Long, a lesser-known wetland sanctuary, home to rare langurs and abundant birdlife. Enjoy a quiet sampan ride before returning to your resort.

Day 11: Transfer to Halong Bay – Cruise Embarkation
Head to the coast for your overnight cruise in Halong Bay. Board a traditional wooden junk, sail among limestone pillars, and explore hidden coves. Kayak, swim, or simply relax on deck. Sleep in comfort aboard the boat.

Day 12: Lan Ha Bay Discovery
Continue into Lan Ha Bay, a quieter, more untouched part of the bay. Enjoy more kayaking, swimming at remote beaches, and visiting floating villages. Return to port in the late morning and transfer to Hanoi.

Day 13: Fly to Hue – Royal Legacy
Catch a short flight to Hue, the former imperial capital. Settle into your riverside hotel and enjoy an evening walk or boat ride along the Perfume River.

Day 14: Exploring the Ancient Capital
Visit the Imperial Citadel, Thien Mu Pagoda, and the tombs of Emperors Tu Duc and Khai Dinh. Learn about the Nguyen Dynasty and Vietnam’s imperial heritage through architecture and storytelling.

Day 15: Hai Van Pass to Hoi An
Travel by car to Hoi An via the scenic Hai Van Pass, pausing at the summit for panoramic views of the coast. Arrive in Hoi An and wander through its lantern-lit streets, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 16: Cultural Treasures of Hoi An
Join a guided walking tour to discover ancient merchant houses, the Japanese Covered Bridge, and local markets. In the evening, take part in a lantern-making workshop or enjoy local street food.

Day 17: Farming Life & Cooking Class
Cycle to Tra Que vegetable village to learn about traditional farming techniques. Join a hands-on cooking class using freshly picked herbs, then enjoy your homemade meal. Spend the afternoon relaxing or shopping.

Day 18: Flight to Nha Trang – Beachside Retreat
Take a morning flight to Nha Trang and check into a seaside resort. Relax on the beach or opt for a spa treatment to unwind.

Day 19: Nha Trang Leisure Day
Spend the day at your own pace. Optional activities include snorkeling, island hopping, mud bathing, or visiting the Po Nagar Cham Towers.

Day 20: Fly to Ho Chi Minh City – Vibrant South
Fly to Ho Chi Minh City and dive into its energy with visits to Notre Dame Cathedral, the Central Post Office, and the Reunification Palace. Explore Ben Thanh Market and enjoy a farewell dinner.

Day 21: Cu Chi Tunnels or Mekong Delta – Departure
Choose between a visit to the Cu Chi Tunnels or a short excursion into the Mekong Delta. After lunch, transfer to the airport for your departure flight. Tour ends with unforgettable memories of Vietnam from north to south.
