Itinerary Details
Day 1: Arrival in Hanoi – The Timeless Capital
Upon arrival in Hanoi, you’ll be welcomed and transferred to your hotel. Settle in and take your time exploring the city’s lively Old Quarter, where narrow streets are filled with vendors, scooters, and colonial architecture. Optional evening walk around Hoan Kiem Lake or enjoy traditional Vietnamese coffee at a local café.
Day 2: Hanoi City Tour – Old World Meets New
Discover the cultural heartbeat of northern Vietnam. Visit the Temple of Literature — Vietnam’s first university — and the peaceful One Pillar Pagoda. Walk through the tree-lined boulevards of the French Quarter, and explore the maze-like streets of the Old Quarter. Gain insights into the country’s history, traditions, and everyday life.
Day 3: Halong Bay Cruise – A Natural Wonder
Depart for Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its dramatic limestone islands and emerald waters. Embark on a scenic cruise through the bay, passing by floating villages and hidden caves. Relax on deck, swim in secluded lagoons, or simply enjoy the breathtaking landscape as you sail among over 1,500 karst formations.
Day 4: Return to Hanoi – Flight to Hue
After a peaceful morning on the bay, return to Hanoi and catch a domestic flight to Hue — Vietnam’s former imperial capital. Transfer to your hotel and enjoy an evening at leisure by the Perfume River.
Day 5: Hue – Traces of the Imperial Past
Explore Hue’s royal legacy with a visit to the Imperial Citadel, once home to the Nguyen Dynasty. Walk through the palaces and temples of this walled city. Then take a relaxing boat ride on the Perfume River to visit Thien Mu Pagoda and one of the royal tombs set in the hills outside the city.
Day 6: Hai Van Pass to Hoi An – Coastal Beauty & Ancient Charm
Travel by car over the scenic Hai Van Pass, offering panoramic views of the coast and mountains. Stop in Da Nang for a quick visit to the Cham Museum before continuing to Hoi An. This UNESCO-listed town is famed for its preserved architecture, lantern-lit streets, and blend of Asian and European influences.
Day 7: Hoi An Ancient Town – Culture & Craft
Take a guided walking tour of Hoi An’s charming old town. Visit the Japanese Covered Bridge, Chinese Assembly Halls, and traditional merchant houses. Later, you can explore the tailor shops, join a lantern-making class, or take a bicycle ride through the surrounding rice paddies.
Day 8: Free Day in Hoi An – Personal Discovery
Enjoy a full day to explore at your own pace. Optional activities include a cooking class, a beach break at An Bang, or a short boat ride along the Thu Bon River. Hoi An is also a great place to relax and soak in the peaceful atmosphere.
Day 9: Flight to Ho Chi Minh City – Welcome to the South
Fly to Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon. Upon arrival, take a brief orientation tour to experience the city’s energy and contrast — from modern skyscrapers to colonial architecture, from busy markets to quiet pagodas.
Day 10: Cu Chi Tunnels & Saigon Highlights
Drive out to the Cu Chi Tunnels and explore the underground network used during wartime. Learn about guerrilla strategies, hidden kitchens, and survival techniques. Return to the city for visits to the Reunification Palace, Central Post Office, and Notre Dame Cathedral. Enjoy time to shop or stroll down Dong Khoi Street.
Day 11: Mekong Delta Day Trip – Life by the Water
Embark on a day trip to the Mekong Delta. Cruise along quiet canals, visit cottage industries, and meet local farmers and artisans. This is your chance to experience the rural rhythm of life — where boats are homes, and rivers are highways.
Day 12: Departure – End of the Journey
Free time until your airport transfer. Reflect on an unforgettable cross-country adventure — from the cool highlands of the north to the lush lowlands of the south.
